Comey, Trump, Be More Cautious Negotiating With A Wizard – Negotiation Tip of the Week

Former FBI Director Comey should have been more cautious negotiating with Trump (you’re always negotiating); the latter is a wizard that doesn’t adhere to the styles of normal negotiators. Thus, Comey should have known that he was playing with fire as he interacted with the president in the manner he did. But now that Comey is gone, it’s the president’s turn to play peekaboo with the hidden flame of wizardry. That means Comey may take the president to the school of wizardry in the form of ‘get backs’.

When you negotiate, always play the long-game. Think about what might occur in the future as the result of the actions you engage in today.

You’re fired! Ha, ha, ha. That’s a joke, right? The timing and manner in which Comey discovered that he was out of a job, initially led him to believe just that; his firing was a joke.

A wizard is someone that can turn the hidden into the seen, darkness to light, and in-and-out to out-and-in. In essence, a wizard is someone that can change reality based on how he wishes reality to be. Both Trump and Comey have that ability.

Getting tired of reading this article, don’t stop. Instead, take note of how you’re feeling. At the end of this article, don’t jump ahead yet, you’ll gain more insight as to how you might feel when negotiating with a wizard.

Be more cautious than normal when negotiating with people of power. They can use their power to get others to do their bidding, which means they can have unperceived leverage. Thus, the wizard can work his magic behind the scenes and cause a twitch to occur in you (i.e. perceived strange things to happen).

  1. Always be mindful of how you treat people (i.e. you’re always negotiating). You may be in a power position today, but others can combine forces to overpower you.
  2. Consider how things look when you make pronouncements; optics (i.e. the way something appears) can have more of a mental impact on a decision than the original intent of the decision.
  3. When negotiating with powerful people, they can change the rules of the negotiation and not give a heck about the opinion of others, or their lack of consistency with what they previously stated.

Understand, in any negotiation, the possibility for blowback always lurks in concealment. When negotiating with a wizard the blowback can be in the form of being turned into a toad (i.e. have you and/or your environment viewed as being hollow, suspect to deal with, unfit for interaction).

Be it fair to say, negotiating with people of substantial power has to be done with caution. You have to be mindful not to alienate them, while at the same time getting as much as you can as quickly as you can. Just keep in mind that you might have to walk a narrow road between being amenable and being viewed or positioned as someone that can’t be dealt with. If the latter should befall you and you seek retribution, all you have to do is wait. There’ll come a point, with leverage (i.e. combining forces with others), when you’ll be able to even the score. For you, when that occurs… everything will be right with the world.

Now let me ask, did you experience frustration while reading this article? If you did, that’s what it’s like negotiating with a wizard. The same is true if you didn’t experience frustration. That’s the power of wizardry. The wizard is always right.

Remember, you’re always negotiating!

Don’t Beat Around The Bush When Negotiating

Regardless who a person is, or what you are dealing in, I believe we all appreciate straightforwardness and honesty. In negotiations, these are critical. This does not mean we share everything with the other side, after all, negotiations always contain some uncertainty. But we must be honest, and we should be straightforward. We should expect the same from those we negotiate with.

In fact, I would go one step further. If people are not honest and straightforward with you during negotiations, I’d suggest avoiding deals with such people. Unless you have absolutely no other choice, and we almost always have other choices, avoid deals with people who are not honest and straightforward with you, and who don’t communicate openly. If you are up front with others when deal making and address deal-breakers and must haves in a straightforward manner, you should only expect them to do likewise. It doesn’t mean your expectations will be met, but by holding others to the same standards you adhere to, better deals will be made, and the best deals benefit everyone.

I remember reading a quote by Donald Trump on being straightforward. He said, “My style of deal making is quite simple and straightforward. I just keep pushing and pushing to get what I’m after.” I like that quote because it makes a point. Being honest and straightforward does not mean being a pushover or being someone that let’s others take advantage of them. It’s just an efficient and better way to make deals. Dishonesty will kill deals every time. Perceived dishonesty from beating around the bush will also anger parties and kill deals. It only makes sense to avoid both actual and perceived dishonesty during negotiations, not to mention it is the right thing to do. (And we are not even getting into the fact that some dishonest actions are also illegal and have legal consequences.)

Besides the potential for someone to perceive acts as being dishonest due to beating around the bush, such non-direct approaches can waste valuable resources including both money and time. Not only does it make no sense to waste weeks or months negotiating if critical deal points cannot be reached, but it can anger parties and destroy relationships if it is discovered that a party has known the points were unattainable, but refused to be forthright and rather stalled and beat around the bush during negotiations fully knowing the process was a exercise in futility.

Don’t beat around the bush when negotiating. Be honest and straightforward and hold those you negotiate with to the same standards. You’ll get more done, make better deals, and earn the reputation of an honest negotiator who is a straight shooter. All of which will lead you toward success.

Be Present In Conscious Awareness And Grow In Balance And Health

As the energies build in group consciousness it is easy to become aware of the energy fields within our awareness. I feel this most as I am between sleeping and waking in the morning. I start to scan through my body and just be consciously aware of the energies and how they are feeling.

I consciously check if I have a gentle smile on my face each morning. I feel a smile is very special, as it sets up one’s energy vibration for the day. As I become conscious of the smile and my awareness rests with it, I feel the energy start to build and get stronger. I use the gentle smile to allow my awareness to lightly be with the energy, since we know that what we put our attention on grows.

It is good to stay present in the Now – that is, to have all one’s conscious awareness focussed on a single thing like smiling. It creates the space and rests the active mind; you can either focus on your breathing or the energy of the gentle smile.

When I am present and aware in the Now, I do a self-check of the whole of my body. I check how the energy field of my body is feeling by checking that my Soul and Light Body are lining up with my physical, taking a few minutes for all these subtle energies to come into alignment after perhaps astral traveling in my sleep.

This is the time I choose for doing self-healing, using my soul Source energies and the body’s energy blueprint to make adjustments in the energies by visualizing the perfect image of how I would like my physical body to show up. When you work on a Soul level and on your Light Body, the changes you make are natural and help bring your body into balance to reflect your true nature.

This is like working at the level of the Font of Life, where Source energy is emerging into physical manifestation and condensing from light into the fine particles from which will build our atoms and molecules and all the grosser layers of the physical vessel which our spiritual Essence lives in. The vision we hold in our belief system has a profound effect on our physical vehicle.

While we are working with our Source energy, at this level of our body, the body is constantly being regenerated from within. We can choose to change our belief about aging and to visualize our physical self covered in fresh, soft, pliable skin full of life, health and vitality. We can consciously release tension wherever we feel it – asking muscles to relax, become whole and bathe in this elixir of life.

By consciously taking time to charge up our energies and align them with our Soul, we are naturally lining up our energies with the whole Universe. Therefore, when we get up and go into activity we will feel supported by the universe, and life will be a frictionless flow of synchronistic experiences.

While we have a gentle happy smile on our faces, we will see this reflected in all the people we meet and life will become that little bit easier and more natural.

So each morning after waking refreshed from your night’s sleep, take a few minutes to adjust and balance your energies using your awareness of the subtle spiritual Essence that is flowing through your body from the Font of Life, at the core of each of your cells. Breathe in this elixir of life and grow in balance and health each day.
